General Information:

From the beginning of the 20th century up until the 1990s, traffic signals utilised incandescent bulbs to provide a signal to drivers. During the 1990s, new models of signal heads were released using low power Quartz Halogen bulbs to provide a signal to drivers, before eventually being phased out early in the 21st century with LED operated models.

This page concentrates on signals and related equipment released up until the year 2000. This section is split into decades and then sub-sections are split into states and territories, as each jurisdiction often had different equipment from another.
