General Information:
M11 is a freeway standard route in the Mornington Peninsula region in Melbourne's south. The route services areas frequented by tourists and passes through residential, rural and commercial areas.
The route has seen a progression of sections added and was once in 2 sections, before being joined up by Peninsula Link.
History:
- 1960s: The planning for the greater Mornington Peninsula Freeway began in the 1960s in the then Metropolitan Planning Scheme. 2
- 21 November 2021: The 9 km extension of M11 opened as the Mordialloc Fwy between Aspendale Gardens and Dingley Village. 3
