General Information:

ACT Tourist Drive 5 is the Science and Nature loop, taking in attractions such as Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, Deep Space Tracking Station, Cotter Dam, various nature parks and reserves, Lanyon Homestead, Cuppacumbalong and much more.

The route varies from freeway conditions along the Monaro Hwy and Adelaide Ave through to rural back roads along the southwestern part of the route, further away from urban areas.

  Intersection Directional Sign:
ID sign at the Lady Denman Dr (TD2) roundabout at Yarralumla, February 2011. The TD2 duplex starts at this junction, but the TD5 shield is missing off the sign. This junction has since been replaced with traffic lights, and this section of Cotter Rd has also been duplicated.

Holder:
Cotter Rd (TD5) as it passes through Holder, February 2011. The construction works are part of the new Molonglo region of suburbs, the road is to be lifted above flood level. The roadworks shown here have since opened to traffic and feature a divided road with 2 lanes each way plus bus lanes.
