Incorporating photos and Information from Michael Greenslade's former Australian Towns, Cities and Highways site

McLaren Vale McLaren Vale, situated about 40km south of Adelaide is the premier town in the Southern Vales wine growing region.

The town, totally surrounded by vineyards is situated in a small valley formed from Pedler Creek, has undergone rapid growth in recent years mainly due to the expansion of wineries in this time. As a result, tourism has increased and the shopping precinct has improved dramatically with the colourful main street boasting several quaint coffee and specialty shops. Also in town is the visitors centre to the north of town, wine tasting tours, the historic Hotel McLaren & Salopian Inn and the annual Bushing Festival held in October.
