Welcome to the Northern Territory area of the Australian Towns and Cities section. Please choose a region of the Northern Territory to explore by choosing from a list of towns and cities from further down the page.

The Northern Territory is a federal Australian territory in the central and central northern regions of Australia. It shares borders with Western Australia to the west, South Australia to the south and Queensland to the east. The population is concentrated in coastal regions and along the Stuart Highway.

The economy of the Northern Territory is mostly driven by the mining sector, but also construction and manufacturing also play a major role, as does tourism.
