General Information:

The former Brand Highway through Gingin consists of Dewar Road (Weld Street) and Cockram Road and passes directly through the town centre of Gingin.

It's a single carriagway roadway with 1 lane in each direction. Gingin was bypassed in 1984, when MRWA opened a bypass to traffic along the western side of the town, thus rerouting Brand Hwy (NR1) around the town centre.

• 1984: Gingin bypassed on western side of town by the current alignment of the Brand Highway. 1
