Statistics:

Route Numbering:

General Information:

Originally graded as a cattle property access road, the Plenty Highway was upgraded in the early 1960s on the Northern Territory side of the border. 1 The route is sealed for the first 97 kilometres from the Stuart Hwy (NH87), it is then unsealed its entire length from there to the outskirts of Boulia. The Plenty Highway links a few homesteads and stations within the region and acts as a link to western Queensland.

The Plenty Highway forms part of what is called the Outback Way. Several roads in WA, NT and QLD make up the Outback Way including The Great Central Road, Gunbarrel Highway, Lasseter Highway, Stuart Highway, Plenty Highway, Donohue Highway and the Kennedy Development Road. 1
